Herndon Recovery Center has been assisting the substance abuse and
dual diagnosis community for over 25 years.
We provide services in a small, intimate, residential environment in North Fresno.
Our Medical Director, Dr. Satnam Atwal, M.D. is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in addiction.

Addiction can have a crippling effect on you and those around you, and can lead to health problems and behavioral disorders. But there’s always hope and there is always light, even in the darkest of hours. Herndon Recovery Center can walk with you on your journey to sobriety. Get your life back on the right path - and, with our ongoing support, stay on that path for good.
Herndon Recovery Center offers their services in an intimate home environment in North Fresno. We only accept six clients at a time in our residential program. This allows persons seeking treatment to have a more individualized experience that addresses their needs for recovery.
Our home has five bedrooms, most with an ensuite bathrooms. One of our rooms is ADA compliant for those who have mobility restrictions. We have a spacious backyard filled with fruit trees and an enclosed patio. Meals are prepared on site, with consideration of those with dietary restrictions.
We are staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with registered and certified addiction counselors.
TREATMENT SERVICES
We are a voluntary participation program. While your addiction is our primary focus, we also analyze all aspects of your life, such as your lifestyle and environment, to try to get to the root of the issue. We also offer access to mental health services during your stay. Wherever possible, we invite your family and loved ones to join us on your journey back to good habits and health.
Residential Inpatient
Residential Inpatient Program offers the best possible change at long-term sobriety. Patients live 24 hours a day in a private, comfortable facility with a highly structured,
customized addiction treatment plan.
A typical stay is 28 days, but length of stay ultimately dependent on the patient’s needs. The program includes individual and group therapy, addiction education, and 12-stepmeetings and other social sober support.
Partial Day Treatment
Partial Day Treatment Program offers patients the intensity of a residential program, but the ability to return home in the evenings.
Patients meet six days a week with two, three-hour sessions per day. Length of stay is based on the patient’s unique individual needs.
The program includes individual and group therapy, addiction education,
12-step meetings and the family support sessions.
Intensive Outpatient
HRC’s Intensive Outpatient Program is tailored for those adults who want to seek treatment for their addiction problems and are committed to staying clean and sober. This highly structured program runs three times per week with three hours per session. It consists of counseling groups, education groups, relapse prevention,
family support programs and after care follow ups.
We also encourage our participants to
actively engage in twelve step meetings or other social support groups.
Medically Monitored Detoxification
Participants in need of medically monitored outpatient detoxification services will be evaluated and monitored by Dr. Satnam Atwal, M.D.
in our offices. Dr. S. Atwal provides Buprenorphine (Suboxone) for opiate detoxification, and other medications
for alcohol and other types of substance
dependencies.
Family Services
Patients are not the only ones affected by
addiction. Addiction hurts patients and their families. A person’s addiction gets worse as time goes on and its effects may
damage or change the family.
We educate and counsel the family about the contributing factors that lead to addiction and how to support their addicted loved ones.
